Smartport is a telemetry system used by newer FrSky transmitters (such as Taranis Q X7, X9D, X9D+, X9E, or XJR) with X series receivers (such as X4R (SB), X8R, XSR, R-XSR, XSR-M, or XSR-E).
Smartport is a reverse protocol. F7 flight controllers can directly recognize reverse signals, but F4 flight controllers cannot directly recognize them and require a hardware inverter.
If you do not use a hardware inverter with an F4 flight controller, the following steps are necessary:
Smartport
Step 1: Connect the S.port of the receiver to the TX2 of the flight controller.
Step 2: In the Configuration page, enable the "Enable CPU based serial ports" option.
Step 3: In the Ports page, set the Telemetry option of SOFTSERIAL1 to SmartPort.
Please connect the receiver's S.PORT to TX2.
F.PORT and F.BUS need to be directly connected to the flight controller. However, to ensure stability, our flight controller has resistors added to its serial connections. Therefore, it does not support F.PORT and F.BUS connections.
