Failed to open the UART port, unable to connect to the configurator. How to install the driver using Zadig (Windows PC)?

一, Applicable Scope and Issue Symptoms

Applicable Scope：

Computer System: Windows

Flight Controller Firmware: Betaflight and INAV

Issue Symptoms:

The flight controller works normally, but the port of the flight controller cannot be found in Betaflight or the configurator's upper right corner. When attempting to connect, it prompts "Failed to open the UART port."

• How to determine if the flight controller is working normally?

  If the blue LED light flashes when the flight controller is powered via USB, it indicates that the flight controller is working normally.

  

二, Required Software

We recommend using Zadig to install the driver for the flight controller.

三, Updating the Flight Controller Driver

1. Connect the flight controller to the computer using a USB cable.

2. Open the Zadig software and click on "Options".

3. Click "List All Devices".

4. Find the driver for the flight controller.

If you are unsure of the flight controller's driver name, you can unplug and replug the flight controller; the newly appeared device will be the flight controller's driver.

5. Select the driver that needs to be updated, and please update the driver to "USB Serial (CDC)".

6. Click "Replace Driver" and wait for the update to complete.

Once the update is successful, you will be able to see the flight controller's UART port in the upper right corner of Betaflight or INAV configurator, and you can then connect the flight controller to the configurator normally.
