Please follow the steps below:
Step 1: Check if the wiring between the receiver and the flight controller is correct.
We recommend referring to the flight controller manual for the receiver's wiring diagram.
Notice: The receiver signal wire should be correctly connected to the flight controller. For SBUS receivers, connect the SBUS signal of the receiver to the vacant RX pad on the flight controller (not the TX pad). For TBS crossfire/ELRS receivers, connect the RX of the receiver to the vacant UART's TX pad and connect the TX on the receiver to the UART's RX pad.
Step 2: Ensure that the receiver has successfully bound to your radio transmitter.
We suggest referring to the receiver's manual and the transmitter's manual to verify if they are bound.
For example, the following video shows the binding process for the Radiomaster Zorro transmitter:
Step 3: Check if the receiver has enabled "Serial Rx."
For instance, if your receiver is connected to UART 4, you should enable "Serial Rx" on UART 4.
Notice: Since one UART can only connect to one external device, only one item can be enabled for the entire UART line. For example, if UART 4 is set to serial RX, it is impossible to enable configuration/MSP, telemetry output, sensor input, or peripheral devices.
Step 4: Set the correct receiver mode and provider.
According to the receiver's manual, you should do the following:
- TBS Crossfire/ELRS - CRSF
- ExpressLRS - CRSF
- Spektrum DSM2 - SPEKTRUM1024/SRXL2
- Spektrum DSMX - SPEKTRUM2048/SRXL2
- FrSky RX - SBUS or FrSky FPort
- Futaba RX - SBUS
- FlySky RX – IBUS Turnigy RX – IBUS
For example, if your receiver is TBS Crossfire or ELRS, select "CSRF."
For FrSky receivers, select "Serial(via UART)" and "SBUS" or "FrSky FPort."
For Flysky receivers, select PPM or IBUS.
Step 5: Check if your transmitter can be detected in the Betaflight configurator.
Connect your flight controller to the Betaflight configurator > Receiver tab and move the joysticks or switch to see if the Betaflight UI can display the input accordingly.
Note: For some receivers, you must keep them at least 0.5 meters away from the transmitter to prevent automatic disconnection.
