If the firmware flashing process is interrupted or if the red light on the receiver stays on after flashing the firmware, the ELRS receiver may be bricked. Please refer to the steps below to re-flash the firmware:
- Wiring between Flight Controller and Receiver:
Please connect the ELRS to the FC as shown in the diagram below.
- FC Settings:
a. Connect the flight controller to the Betaflight Configurator and enable the serial receiver on the corresponding UART (the wiring shown above uses UART2).
b.Set the receiver protocol to "CRSF" and disable the "Telemetry" function (you can refer to the settings in the diagram below).
- Firmware Flashing:
a. Please download the latest ELRS-Configurator.
(Download link:https://github.com/ExpressLRS/ExpressLRS-Configurator/releases)
b. Please turn off the Betaflight Configurator and the remote control.
c.Press and hold the BOOT button on the receiver, then connect the flight controller to the Configurator by connecting the USB.
(Powering to the receiver while holding down the BOOT button.)
d.Select the firmware version and model you need to flash (please choose the firmware according to the receiver you are using).
For example, for the Speedybee 2.4G ELRS receiver, choose SpeedyBee 2.4GHz and "SpeedyBee 2.4 GHz RX."
e. Please select the flashing method as "Betaflight Passthrough."
f. Set the "Device Options."
Please select and check the desired features.
If you are unsure about these features, please refer to the settings below.
g. Please select the port; keep other options turned off.
h. Click "Flash."
After waiting for the flashing process to complete, the firmware update for the ELRS receiver is finished.
In testing, there is a certain probability of failure.
If flashing fails, please restart the ELRS Configurator and the receiver and attempt to re-flash the firmware.
